Access Control integrations

The Alta Video video management system now includes the tools to integrate with your access control systems.
Integration between Alta Video and the Avigilon Alta access control system is free for all Alta Video users.
Integration with other access control systems requires a suitable license - speak to your Avigilon Alta Partner or Sales representative for more information.
Once you have connected Alta Video and your access control system, you can link your cameras located close to each access control point. This gives you visibility of your entrances and exits from within Alta Video.
Placing representations of each access control point on the Alta Video Map view enables your operators to not only see what is happening at each doorway, but to also see the status of each door - Has an access request been made? Is the door unlocked, opened, being held open, is it being forced open? — all can be shown on Map view.
Two types of integration are possible:
- Direct integrations — where Alta Video communicates directly with the access control systems using a proprietary API. There are separate direct integrations for leading access controls systems. For example, you can directly integrate your Alta Video system with your Avigilon Alta access control system, Keep by Feenics, Nedap AEOS, or OnGuard systems.
- Generic integrations using a proxy — where Alta Video communicates with a proxy, and this proxy implements the proprietary API to the access control system. To use a generic integration a proxy must be created to enable communication between the Alta Video Access Control API and the API for the chosen access control system.
