Alta Video — 1973: Unauthorized access to hidden object fields via API request filters

Overview

It was reported that for some API endpoints it was possible to leverage the request filters to expose the values of hidden object fields. Some of these hidden object fields contained internal application secrets and confidential user information.

Affected products

  • Alta Video:
    • All Stable upgrade channel versions before 7.7.4.
    • All Delayed upgrade channel versions before 7.6.7.
    • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 7.7.3.
  • Alta Video Cloud: before  21st August 2025.

Unaffected products

  • Alta Video:
    • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 7.7.4.
    • All Delayed upgrade channel versions after and including 7.6.7.
    • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 7.7.3.
  • Avigilon Alta cloud-native Cameras: all versions.
  • Alta Video Cloud: from 21st August 2025.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in Alta Video Beta upgrade channel version 7.7.3, Delayed upgrade channel 7.6.8, and Stable upgrade channel version 7.7.4.

It is strongly recommended that all installations running an affected version are upgraded to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Alta Video web app.
