Alta video—1963: Sanitisation failure in vue-i18n could lead to DOM-XSS
Release Date
11th of November 2025.
Overview
A vulnerability was identified in Vue I18n, an internationalization plugin for Vue.js.
The escapeParameterHtml: true option, intended to prevent HTML/script injection,
failed to prevent the execution of certain tag-based payloads when interpolated values
were inserted inside an HTML context using v-html.
This vulnerability could lead to a DOM-based XSS vulnerability,
even when using the escapeParameterHtml: true option, if a translation string included minor
HTML and was rendered via v-html.
