Alta Aware — 1587: Multiple data integrity vulnerabilities in Buildroot

Overview

Multiple data integrity vulnerabilities have been discovered in Buildroot. These vulnerabilities could allow a man-in-the-middle attacker to, for example, execute arbitrary commands within the Buildroot system during the build process of the Cloud Connector OS or its packages.

Affected Products

  • Ava Aware:
    • All Stable upgrade channel versions before 6.9.5.
    • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 6.9.0.

Unaffected Products

  • Ava Aware:

    • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 6.9.5.
    • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 6.9.0.
  • Ava Cameras: all versions.

  • Ava Cloud: all versions.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in Ava Aware Beta upgrade channel version 6.9.0 and Stable upgrade channel version 6.9.5.

It is highly recommended that all installations running an affected version are upgraded to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Ava Aware User Interface.
