Ava-601: Ava products vulnerable to denial of service attack

Overview

Due to a vulnerability in the golang.org/x/net/http2 package, an attacker could cause unbounded memory usage which would cause the product to restart.

Affected Products

• Ava Aware:
  • All Stable upgrade channel versions before 4.4.4.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 4.5.1.
• Ava cameras:
  • All Stable upgrade Channel versions before 4.4.4.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 4.5.1.
• Ava Cloud: before 20st December 2021.

Unaffected Products

• Ava Aware:
  • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 4.4.4.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 4.5.1.
• Ava cameras:
  • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 4.4.4.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 4.5.1.
• Ava Cloud: from 21st December 2021.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in Ava Aware Beta upgrade channel version 4.5.1 and Stable upgrade channel version 4.4.4. It is highly recommended that all installations running an affected version are upgraded to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download. A fix was deployed to the Ava Cloud on 21st December 2021. Ava Cloud customers do not need to take any additional action. This issue has been fixed in Ava camera Beta upgrade channel version 4.5.1 and Stable upgrade channel version 4.4.4. It is highly recommended that all Ava camera installations running an affected version upgrade to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Ava Aware User Interface for Ava managed cameras and the Ava camera User Interface for unmanaged Ava cameras.
