Ava-728: Vulnerability in Go could cause a denial of service

Overview

A vulnerability in Go's net/http package could give rise to a denial of service condition in Ava Aware, Cloud Connectors, Ava cameras, and the Ava Cloud.

Affected Products

• Ava Aware:
  • All Stable upgrade channel versions before 5.5.2.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 5.5.2.
• Ava Cameras:
  • All Stable upgrade Channel versions before 5.5.2.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions before 5.5.2.
• Ava Cloud: before 12th December 2022.

Unaffected Products

• Ava Aware:
  • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 5.5.2.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 5.5.2.
• Ava Cameras:
  • All Stable upgrade channel versions after and including 5.5.2.
  • All Beta upgrade channel versions after and including 5.5.2.
• Ava Cloud: from 12th December 2022.

Resolution

This issue has been fixed in Ava Aware Beta upgrade channel version 5.5.2 and Stable upgrade channel version 5.5.2.

It is strongly recommended that all installations running an affected version are upgraded to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download.

A fix was deployed to the Ava Cloud on 12th December 2022. Ava Cloud customers do not need to take any additional action.

This issue has been fixed in Ava Camera Beta upgrade channel version 5.5.2 and Stable upgrade channel version 5.5.2.

It is strongly recommended that all Ava Camera installations running an affected version upgrade to the latest release as soon as possible. Releases are available to download through the Ava Aware User Interface for Ava managed cameras and the Ava Camera User Interface for unmanaged Ava cameras.
