Last modified: Thursday February 23, 2023.

You can change the language used for the Alta Video user interface, the login page, and system-generated email notifications. Alta Video currently supports English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese.

Language preference when logging into Alta Video

Alta Video determines the language used on the login page as follows:

  1. If supported, Alta Video will use the language preference set in your browser.
  2. If your browser preference is not supported, the login page defaults to English.
  3. You can manually select a language preference for the login page from the drop-down menu.

Language preference in Alta Video

Alta Video determines the language for the user interface as follows:

  1. Alta Video uses the language preference set in your Alta Video user settings.
  2. If you have not set a preference in your user settings but chose a language on the login page, Alta Video uses the language selected for the login page.
  3. If you have not set a language preference in Alta Video or on the login page, Alta Video uses the language preference set in your browser.
  4. If Alta Video does not currently support your browser language preference, it defaults to English.

The language that you choose on the login page does not override the language that you have chosen in your Alta Video user settings.

Language preference for system-generated emails

You can set the language preference for system-generated emails, for example, notification emails sent when rules are triggered. The language preference for these emails is separate from the language preference set for the Alta Video UI in your user settings.
