Set your preferred language

Last modified: Tuesday July 22, 2025.

You can change the language used for the sign-in page, web app, and system-generated emails.

Alta Video currently supports English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Japanese.

Sign-in page

Alta Video determines the sign-in page language as follows:

  1. If supported, the sign-in page uses your browser language preference.
  2. If not supported, the sign-in page defaults to English.
  3. You can manually select a language from the dropdown on the sign-in page.

The language you select on the sign-in page does not override the language that you set your web app (see below).

Alta Video web app

You can set the language used in the web app user interface:

  1. Open the Alta Video web app.
  2. Click your initials in the menu bar and select Profile.
  3. Open the Preferences tab.
  4. In GENERAL PREFERENCES select your Language preference.

System-generated emails

You can set the language used in system-generated emails, for example, notification emails sent when rules are triggered.

  1. Open the System System tool.
  2. From Deployment, select Settings.
  3. Select General.
  4. Select your preferred Language for system emails.

The language set for system emails is separate from the web app language set in your profile (see above).

Default Alta Video language

Alta Video determines the language used in the web app as follows:

  1. Alta Video uses the language set in your user profile.
  2. If you have not set a language in your profile, Alta Video uses the language you selected on the sign-in page.
  3. If you have not set a language in your profile or on the sign-page, Alta Video uses your default browser language.
  4. If Alta Video does not currently support your browser language, it defaults to English.
