How to: Verify alarms or events

When a rule is created, it can be configured so that when the rule triggers, the alarm or event that it creates needs to be verified by your operators.

You can verify an individual alarm or event, or you can bulk verify a group of alarms or events.

Prerequisites

  • For Alarms and Events to be visible, you must have some Rules configured, and those rules to have triggered.

Task — Verify a single alarm from a pop-up notification

  1. From the pop-up notification in the Alta Video user interface, either:
    • From the popup window:
      1. Select the appropriate response (either False or Valid) from the Verification dropdown on the pop-up window.
    • Click View button to see more information, such as location on the map and to watch the video) from the alarm or event.
      1. Select the appropriate response (either False or Valid) from the Verification dropdown.
      2. Click Close.

Task — Verify a single alarm from the Alarms or Events tool

  1. Select either the Alarms or Events tool.
    The list of all alarms or events that require verification is shown.
  2. Select the alarm or event of interest.
    The information pane is shown on the right of the screen.
  3. Select the appropriate response (either False or Valid) from Verification (required).

Task — Verify multiple alarms from the Alarms or Events tool

  1. Select either the Alarms or Events tool.
    The list of all alarms or events that require verification is shown.
  2. Select the checkbox to the left of each alarm to verify it.

    Select alarms or events that all need the same verification, for example, that all need to be verified as Valid, or all to be acknowledged as False.

  3. Click Edit button Edit.
  4. Select the appropriate response (either False or Valid) from Verification (required) .
  5. Click Done.

False image health alarms
