Clips tool

The Clips tool shows the bookmarked clips and shared links created from video recorded by your Alta Video deployment.
- Bookmarks: Video clips made available to other uses for review, for example, a system administrator or another shift operator.
- Shared links: Video clips shareable with people that are not Alta Video users.

Key Features
- Centralized library: View tables of saved content filtered by "Only my saved clips," "Clips shared with me," or "All clips" to easily locate specific evidence.
- Video playback: Click any entry to open a preview pane that displays the video clip, its corresponding timeline, and general information about the event.
- Multi-camera viewing: If a bookmark contains footage from multiple cameras, you can view them sequentially in a full-screen layout or simultaneously in a 2x2 grid.
- Edit capabilities: Modify existing bookmarks or links by adjusting the start and end times, changing the name and description, or disabling footage from specific cameras included in the clip.
- Access management: Change which users or user groups have permission to view specific bookmarked clips.
- Export: Download video files directly from the Clips tool in .mp4 or .ava format for offline storage or evidence handover. You can also password-protect these exports.
- Convert to Link: Quickly generate an external link from an existing internal bookmark to share it with third parties, such as law enforcement or insurance adjusters.
- Retention management: Define how long a clip should be kept. Bookmarked content has a retention policy independent of the camera's standard recording settings, allowing you to keep critical footage for a specific period or indefinitely until manually deleted.
