Blocked clips in other tools

Blocked clips can affect the appearance of video in other Alta Video tools.

Maps

For cameras with a block affecting the current timeframe, video thumbnails appear blank and show a warning message instead. Exempt users see the video normally with a Blocked clip warning message.

Video view

Live and recorded video playback

Video playback changes based on the features blocked and the exemption status of the user.

Live video blocked, Recorded video blocked, user not exempt: Live video and timeline thumbnails are blank with a warning message.

Recorded video blocked, user not exempt: Live video is visible, but timeline thumbnails are blank with a warning message.

Blocked PTZ cameras

PTZ control blocked, user not exempt: Video is visible, but the timeline shows the blocked timeframe in red and a warning message on hover that PTZ features are blocked.

Live video blocked, user exempt: Live video and timeline thumbnails are visible. The timeline shows the blocked timeframe in red.

Devices associated with blocked cameras

Device associated with camera, Live video blocked, user not exempt: Video is blank with a warning, but the user can still operate associated devices (doors, intercoms, speakers) from the video pane controls.

Pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera, Live video blocked, user not exempt: Video is blank with a warning and PTZ controls are unavailable. Blocking Live video automatically blocks PTZ features.

System notifications

Live video blocked or Recorded video blocked, user not exempt: The video thumbnail in the pop-up alert is blank and shows a text warning message.

Side-panel video previews

Recorded video blocked, user not exempt: The blocked parts of the timeline are highlighted red and redacted with an overlaid text warning.

Email notifications

Live video blocked or Recorded video blocked, user not exempt: The email alert does not include an image from the associated video.
