Use camera encryption certificates in Alta Video

Configure Avigilon Alta Alta Video to use the encryption certificates received from the cameras.

Task — View the camera's certificate

  1. From the toolbar, open new tool button > devices tool button Devices.
  2. Select the camera of interest.

    Use the Search for devices button search to find the camera in large lists of devices.

  3. Click Edit settings area.
  4. Click Connection.
  5. If enabled, click View certificate link Certificate.
  6. Review the content of the certificate.

Task — Choose to trust the camera's certificate

  1. From the dropdown on the encryption certificate dialog, select Trust.
  2. Click Done.

Task — Select the encryption settings for the camera

  1. Select your preferred encryption option:
    • Off — Never use encryption. The signal from the camera is unencrypted.
    • On (when available) — Attempt to use encryption, but if the camera's certificate is untrusted, then the signal from the camera is unencrypted.
    • On — Always use encryption.

      If the camera does not provide a trusted certificate, then you will not see a signal from the camera. This can result in an intermittent feed being received.

    The settings become active immediately.
