Reset or delete Alta cameras from Alta Video

Alta Video provides different options to reset and remove Alta cameras from a deployment. You can choose to delete a camera and any recordings or reset a camera to its factory settings and keep any recordings.

Task — Delete a camera and its recordings

To delete a camera and any associated recordings, alarms, and saved clips:

1. Choose Open a tool > Devices.
2. Select or search for the camera of interest.
3. From the Settings area, click Edit settings.
4. Choose Delete camera.
5. To reset the camera to its default settings, select Factory reset camera from Alta Video before deleting.
   
6. Click Delete.

Task — Reset a camera and delete its current recordings

To reset a camera to its default settings and delete its current recordings, saved clips, and bookmarks:

1. Choose Open a tool > Devices.
2. Select or search for the camera of interest.
3. From the Settings area, click Edit settings.
4. Choose Reset camera settings and delete recordings. This option only deletes footage currently on the camera. Alta Video retains any backed-up recordings from the camera.
5. Click Reset.

Task — Reset a camera and keep its recordings

To reset a camera to its default settings and keep its current recordings:

1. Choose Open a tool > Devices.
2. Select or search for the camera of interest.
3. From the Settings area, click Edit settings.
4. Choose Reset camera settings.
5. Click Reset.
