Include speakers on your site maps

To enable your operators to make audio announcements from the cameras with in-built speakers from Map view, add the speakers to the relevant positions on your maps.

Prerequisites

Ensure you have uploaded your site maps, and that the maps are linked to the correct site. See Upload site maps to Map view.

Task — Place speakers on your maps

If you have a camera with an in-built or connected speaker, or and associated camera already placed in Map view when you configure the audio announcements feature, you do not need to explicitely place the speaker, as the speaker icons are automatically added to the thumbnail views when the speakers are configured.

  1. Choose Tools Tools > Map view Map view.
  2. Toggle Map view into edit mode: Edit mode button
  3. Expand Maps.
  4. Choose the map to update with speaker icons.

    Site maps are grouped by the site or office to which they belong; expand the site or office to view the site maps associated with that location.

  5. Expand Speakers.
  6. Find the Speaker to place on the map.

    You can scroll through the list of speakers, expand and collapse the camera groups, or use the search option to find the relevant speaker.

  7. Drag the speaker to the representative position on the map.
  8. Repeat for other speakers as needed.
