Edit rules

You might find that a rule that has been set up does not work quite as expected.

If you created a line-crossing rule, the position of the drawn line might be such that the Avigilon Alta analytics cannot detect the object both before and after the line-cross due to the line being too close to a wall, or in a position where people or vehicles do not travel, and want to re-align the line-cross position.

Alternatively, you might have configured a rule for your original opening hours, but now need to adjust it to account for changed times of opening.

In these cases, rather that creating a new rule, you can edit the existing rule to improve its performance.

Task — Edit a rule

  1. Choose Tools New tool > Rules Rules.
  2. Select the rule to be edited.

    1. A rule with the control center linked rule icon is used as a trigger in Avigilon Alta Alta Access. Editing or deleting the rule in Alta Video changes the behavior of the linked Alta Access rule.

  3. Select the required parameter tab.
  4. Make your intended changes to the rule.
  5. Once you have completed all changes, click Done.
