Audit logs

To view and change system settings, you must have the correct permissions. See Alta Video Deployment settings.

Alta Video logs when users make configuration changes or view video.

  • Configuration logs are limited to the last 90 days of data, or 100,000 entries.
  • Viewer logs are limited to the last 90 days of data, or 1,000,000 entries.

View audit logs

  1. Open the System System tool.
  2. From Deployment, select Settings.
  3. Select Audit logs.
  4. Click View logs.
  5. Use the tabs to view the Configuration logs or Viewer logs.
  6. Use Search Search to search for particular words, for example, the name of a rule, or a change to the time-ranges, that appear in the audit log.
  7. To view audit logs from a specific time frame, use the From and To time fields.
  8. Click a log entry to the entry see more details.

Download audit logs

You can download audit logs in JSON format.

  1. Open the System System tool.
  2. From Deployment, select Settings.
  3. Select Audit logs.
  4. Click Download logs for either CONFIGURATION LOGS or VIEWER LOGS.
  5. Enter the required time frame or select All.
  6. Click Download.
  7. Click Done.

Delete audit logs

  1. Open the System System tool.
  2. From Deployment, select Settings.
  3. Select Audit logs.
  4. Click Delete logs in CONFIGURATION LOGS or VIEWER LOGS as required.
  5. Enter the required time frame.
  6. Click Delete.
  7. Click Done.
