Camera backup settings

To view and change system settings, you must have the correct permissions. See Alta Video Deployment settings.

By creating backup schedules, you control how the cameras connected to your deployment back up their stored video data to the cloud.

Video from cameras connected to a Cloud Connector use its storage and follow the same backup schedule.

Configure a camera backup schedule

  1. Open the System System tool.
  2. From Deployment, select Settings.
  3. Select Backup cameras.
  4. To set the default backup schedule, click Change schedule in DEFAULT BACKUP SETTINGS.
  5. To create a site-specific backup schedule:
    1. Find the required site in the SETTINGS PER SITE list.
    2. Select Use custom settings and click Change schedule.
  6. Configure the schedule:
    1. Select Always to allow backups at any time.
    2. Select When to schedule backups at specific times.
    3. Select Never to turn off camera backups.
  7. If required, set the bandwidth usable by each camera.
    1. We recommend a value between 250 and 10,000 kbps depending on your network capabilities.
  8. Click Done.

Check backup status

  1. Open the System System tool.
  2. From Deployment, select Settings.
  3. Select Backup cameras.
  4. Under BACKUP OVERVIEW, click View backup status.
    1. You can sort the table by clicking on the column headings.
  5. Click Close.
  6. Click Done.
