Configure 2 factor authentication when mandated by an administrator

If your Alta Video administrators have mandated that you must use 2 factor authentication, the next time you log into your Alta Video deployment, you are required to set up your 2 factor authentication.

Prerequisites

Install a suitable authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator on your cellular phone before you configure your 2 factor authentication.

Task — Add 2 factor authentication to your user account

  1. Log in to your Alta Video deployment.
The Configure Two Factor Authentication (2FA) dialog is shown.
  2. Using your authentication app on your cellular device, scan the displayed QR code.
Alternatively, you can manually enter the ACCOUNT and SETUP KEY information provided in the Configure Two Factor Authentication (2FA) dialog into your chosen authentication app.
The authenticator app shows a new entry for your Avigilon Alta deployment and your user account.
  3. In the Alta Video Configure Two Factor Authentication (2FA) dialog, enter the authentication code generated by your authenticator app.

The authenticator app refreshes the authentication code every 30 seconds.

  4. Click Done.
After you next log out, when you then attempt to log into Alta Video, after entering your username and password, you are prompted to enter the authentication code generated by your chosen authenticator app.
