Set up administrator requested 2FA

For additional security, an Alta Video administrator might add two-factor authentication (2FA) to your user account. The next time you sign in to Alta Video, you must set up 2FA.

Prerequisites

Install a suitable authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile device before you configure 2FA.

Task — Add 2FA to your user account

1. Sign in to your Alta Video deployment.
2. The Configure Two Factor Authentication (2FA) dialog opens.
3. Using your authentication app, scan the displayed QR code.
   1. Alternatively, enter the Account and Setup key information from the dialog into your authentication app.
4. The authenticator app shows a new entry for Avigilon Alta Video and your user account.
5. In the Alta Video 2FA dialog, enter the authentication code generated by the app.
6. Click Done.
7. On subsequent sign-in attempts, enter your username, password, and a new code from authenticator app.
