You can configure your own Alta Video user account to require two factor authentication.

Prerequisites

Install a suitable authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator on your cellular phone before you configure your Alta Video user account to use two factor authentication.

Task — Add two factor authentication to your user account

  1. Log in to your Alta Video deployment.
  2. Click the Alta Aware Settings button Alta Video Settings button at the top-right of the screen.
  3. Click My profile.
  4. From General settings, enable Two factor authentication.
  5. Using your authentication app on your cellular device, scan the displayed QR code.
Alternatively, you can manually enter the ACCOUNT and SETUP KEY information provided in the Configure Two Factor Authentication (2FA) dialog into your chosen authentication app.
The authenticator app shows a new entry for your Avigilon Alta deployment and your user account.
  6. In the Alta Video Configure Two Factor Authentication (2FA) dialog, enter the authentication code generated by your authenticator app.

The authenticator app refreshes the authentication code every 30 seconds.

  7. Click Done.
After you next log out, when you then attempt to log into Alta Video, after entering your email and password, you are prompted to enter the authentication code generated by your chosen authenticator app.
