Select and organize your Views in Video view

The Video view Saved views are a convenient way of creating the Layouts with the camera feeds you find most useful. Saved views can be specific to each user, or they can be shared so that other users can see and select them. You can also organize saved views into a hierarchical folder system and define specific permissions for viewing or editing each view or folder for individual users or user groups.

Task — Select the views to display

If you have defined a Default view, this is shown each time you log into Alta Video and open Video view.

  1. Choose Tools Tools > Video view Video view.
  2. Expand Saved views in the left-hand sidebar.
  3. Select the view from your list to display.

Task — Create a new Saved view folder and edit permissions

  1. Choose Tools Tools > Video view Video view.
  2. Expand Saved views in the left-hand sidebar.
  3. Click the New Folder icon.
  4. Enter a name for the folder.
  5. To place the new folder within an existing one, click Select folder and choose the desired parent folder.
  6. Click Done.
  7. To choose which users or groups can edit or view the new folder, enter a name in the PEOPLE & GROUPS field.
  8. Choose between Access only, Edit views, and Manage folder and edit views.
  9. Click Save.

Once multiple folders are created, you can arrange them, along with individual views, into any desired hierarchical structure using drag-and-drop actions.
