Reset your Alta camera using the hardware reset button

If instructed to do so by the Avigilon Alta technical support team, carry out a hard factory reset on the Alta camera.
Risk of loss of data!
This option resets the Alta camera, and all your settings will be returned to the factory defaults. Your current camera configuration can not be recovered after the reset.
Prerequisites
Risk of serious injury and damage to equipment!
Depending on how your Alta camera is mounted, ensure you use suitable safety equipment, such as raised working platforms, and follow best practice for working in elevated areas.
Task — Factory-reset an Avigilon Ava Quad or Avigilon Ava Quad
- Locate the Avigilon Ava Quad camera that is to be reset.
- Remove the black IR guard.
- Unscrew the eight captive retaining Torx T10 screws.
- Rotate the top cover slightly whilst supporting the top cover, until the two red triangles align.
The top cover is restrained by a short safety cable. - Lower the top cover.
- Using a suitable implement, depress the hardware reset button for approximately 10 seconds, until the status LEDs on the camera light up.
When the LED’s light up, you can stop depressing the button.
The LED’s blink, and the Avigilon Ava Quad reboots.
- Replace the top cover, realigning the red triangles and slightly rotating the top cover.
- Tighten the eight retaining screws.
- Replace the black IR guard, ensuring that it clicks into place.
Task — Factory-reset an Avigilon Ava Bullet or Avigilon Ava Bullet
- Locate the Avigilon Ava camera that is to be reset.
- Using a Torx T20 driver, unscrew the two screws to release the housing, and slide the housing fully forward.
- Locate the hardware reset button, situated to the right of the Status LEDs.
- Using a suitable implement, depress the hardware reset button for approximately 10 seconds, until the status LEDs on the camera light up.
When the LED’s light up, you can stop depressing the button.
The LED’s blink, and the Avigilon Ava camera reboots.
- Slide the housing backwards and tighten the two screws.
Task — Factory-reset an Avigilon Ava 360 or Avigilon Ava Dome
- Locate the Avigilon Ava camera that is to be reset.
- Using a Torx T20 driver, remove the top cover from your Avigilon Ava camera.
- Locate the hardware reset button, situated by the USB-C connection and the Micro-SD card slot.
- Using a suitable implement, depress the hardware reset button for approximately 10 seconds, until the status LEDs on the camera light up.
When the LED’s light up, you can stop depressing the button.
The LED’s blink, and the Avigilon Ava camera reboots.
- Replace the top cover of the Avigilon Ava camera.
Task — Factory-reset an Compact Dome
- Locate the Compact Dome that is to be reset.
- Squeeze the locking tabs and remove the top cover from your Compact Dome.
- Locate the hardware reset button, located next to the USB-C connector.
- Using a suitable implement, depress the hardware reset button for approximately 10 seconds, until the status LEDs on the camera light up.
When the LED’s light up, you can stop depressing the button.
The LED’s blink, and the Compact Dome reboots.
- Replace the top cover of the Compact Dome.
Task — Factory-reset an Avigilon Ava Flex
- Locate the Avigilon Ava Flex that is to be reset.
- Locate and gently pry open the soft SD card protector, adjacent to the white light illuminator.
- Locate the hardware reset button, located next to the hinge of the soft protector.
- Using a suitable implement, depress the hardware reset button for approximately 10 seconds, until the white light illuminator lights up.
When the illuminator lights up, you can stop depressing the button.
The Avigilon Ava Flex reboots.
- Replace the soft protector.
