Change Horn Speaker settings in Alta Protect

You can change the configuration of an Avigilon Alta Horn Speaker and Short Horn Speaker using the Devices tool in Alta Protect.

View Horn Speaker settings

  1. In Alta Protect, open the devices button Devices tool.
  2. Hover over devices button Devices and select Speakers.
  3. Select the required speaker.
  4. From the side panel:
    1. Expand Settings to see general information about the device, including its site, group, labels, and configuration file.
    2. Expand Detailed information to see more details, such as model, IP address, software version, MAC address, Alta Key, serial number, power source, site details, data management, and backup configuration.
    3. Expand Logs and comments to view automated logs and user comments. You can add comments about the configuration of the device.

Change Horn Speaker settings

  1. In Alta Protect, open the devices button Devices tool.
  2. Hover over devices button Devices and select Speakers.
  3. Select the required speaker.
  4. From the side panel, expand Settings and click Edit settings.
  5. Select the required tab.
  6. From the General tab:
    1. Change the device name.
    2. Change the device group.
      1. To change the site, open Device group and select Move to another site.
    3. Add or remove labels.
    4. Associate the speaker with cameras that are situated in the same location.
    5. edit location button Edit location settings:
      1. Set the GPS coordinates of the area visible in the camera viewport.
      2. Assign the device to a floor withing the site.

  7. From the Connection tab:
    1. You can View credentials for the speaker.
    2. Click Rotate device credentials to change the device credential password.
    3. In NETWORK SETTINGS, you can see detailed network information such as the IP address and MAC address.
    4. Click Manage network settings to turn Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) on or off.
  8. From the Audio tab:
    1. Turn the microphone on or off, enable live audio streaming and recording, view the microphone levels, set the speaker status, set the speaker volume, and play a test sound.
  9. From the Maintenance tab:
    1. See the current and available firmware, download logs, replace or reboot the device, restore the default settings, move the device to another deployment, or delete the speaker from your deployment.
