Getting started with the app

Compatibility

The Alta Aware mobile app for Android is designed for use on Android phones, and its use on Android tablet devices is not currently supported. Your Android phone must be running Android 7 (also known as Android N or Nougat) or later.

Alta Aware user permissions

To use the Alta Aware mobile app for Android devices, you must already have a user profile set up for the Alta Aware deployments you want to monitor with, as a minimum, the following permissions:

View live video
View historic video
View devices in video view
View alarms

Installation

To sign up for the beta versions of the Alta Aware mobile app, search for Alta Aware from the Play store, and then from the App information, tap Join from the Join the beta section.

Install the Alta Aware mobile app on your Android device, using the usual Play Store workflows.
Connect to your Alta Aware deployment: enter your server name (for example, aware-test-server) in the Deployment name field.
Tap NEXT.
Enter your Alta Aware Username and Password.
Tap SIGN IN.
