Getting started with the app

Compatibility

Your iPhone or iPad must be running iOS version 15 or later.

Alta Aware user permissions

To use the Alta Aware app for iOS devices, you must already have a user profile set up for the Alta Aware deployments you want to monitor, with at least the following permissions:

View live video
View historic video
View devices in video view
View alarms

Installation

To test the Alta Aware app for iPhone and iPad beta versions:

From your iOS device, tap https://testflight.apple.com/join/8waet1xD.
If you already have TestFlight installed, tap ACCEPT and then install the required app.
If you do not have TestFlight installed, first install TestFlight, and then join the beta by tapping the Start testing button. Accept the beta and then install the required app.

To start using the Alta Aware app for iOS devices:

From your Apple iOS device, navigate to the App Store and search for Alta Aware.
Install the App.
Connect to your Alta Aware deployment: enter your server name (for example, aware-test-server) in the Deployment name field.
Tap NEXT.
Enter your Alta Aware Username and Password.
Tap SIGN IN.

Known issues

During testing, we have found the following issues in the release.

AVA-4501	Cannot grant access to access control points on the Alta Aware iOS app and the failed attempt is not logged.
9461	Issue: When using the Alta Aware app for iPhone and iPad on iPhone 12, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max devices running iOS 14.6, the screen freezes and does not update when playing video. We currently have an open support case with Apple about this issue.
