How to: Change camera firmware between Alta Video and Avigilon Unity

You can choose to use your Alta devices with Alta Video or Avigilon Unity.
Prerequisites
You must have Avigilon Ava cameras with authorized access to both Alta Video and Avigilon Unity in order to switch between them.
Download the necessary firmware from https://www.avigilon.com/software-downloads. Enter the model number and choose the BIN option. You will need to log in to download the file.
Task — Install Avigilon Unity software on an Alta camera
In Alta Video, select your device, navigate to the Detailed information tab and make a note of the IP address and Alta Key of your device.
- Delete the camera from your deployment. The camera credentials are reset when the camera is deleted. See Reset and remove Alta cameras from Aware.
Enter your camera's IP address into your web browser, set a password, and log in as Admin with the new password.
Go to System. Select Replace with another version.
- Upload the Avigilon Unity firmware to the camera.
Once the installation is complete, set your password again.
Add your device to your non-Alta Video VMS.
If the installation process takes longer than a few minutes, try refreshing the page.
Task — Reinstall Alta Video camera firmware
Make a note of your camera's IP address.
- Delete the camera from your deployment. The camera credentials are reset when the camera is deleted.
Enter your camera's IP address into your web browser, set a password, and log in.
Go to System. Select the option to replace the firmware with a different version.
- Upload the Alta software file.
Once the upload is complete, update the camera if necessary.
