Install your A2000 or A3000 hardware

Last modified: Wednesday September 27, 2023.

To enable you to use your existing third-party cameras with Alta Video, install your Alta Video Cloud Connector A2000 or Alta Video Cloud Connector A3000 hardware into your network.

The Alta Video Cloud Connector A2000 and Alta Video Cloud Connector A3000 servers are supplied as 2U rack-mounted units.

The Alta Video Cloud Connector A2000 and Alta Video Cloud Connector A3000 servers are fitted with case alarms.

If the case is opened while the server is running, an audible alarm sounds, and the server shuts down. This could cause a loss of data.

On replacing the case, the server restarts and runs diagnostics before running the Avigilon Alta software.

Do not open the server case unless advised to do so by your Avigilon Alta technical support representative. Opening the case without prior authorization could invalidate your warranty.

Task

  1. Unpack your Alta Cloud Connector and its ancillary parts from the box.

As the Alta Cloud Connectors are designed to be network-detectable and managed using the web interface, a keyboard and monitor are not required when setting up or using the appliance.

  2. Locate the rack-mount kit and instructions. If you cannot locate the instructions, search online for them using the rack-mount part number.
  3. Install the rack-mount kit to your Alta Cloud Connector, and to your rack.
  4. Insert the server into the rack, and secure using the provided fixings.
  5. Locate the suitable power cable, and connect your Alta Cloud Connector to your electrical supply.

Do not switch on the power yet.

  6. Connect a network cable (not provided) to one of the Alta Cloud Connector network interfaces and to your network switch.
  7. Switch on the power, and allow the Alta Cloud Connector to complete its boot sequence.
  8. Claim your Cloud Connector from your Alta Video deployment. See Claim your Alta Cloud Connector.
