Add Avigilon Ava cloud-connector cameras using network discovery

You can add Alta cameras without cloud connectivity or onboard storage to your Alta Video deployment using network discovery.

Prerequisites

You must connect Alta cameras without cloud connectivity to an Alta Cloud Connector. Physically install the cameras and connect them to a network visible from the Alta Cloud Connector. For more information, see Claim your Alta Cloud Connector.

Additional considerations:

• Camera names to identify the devices within your deployment.
• Configuration profiles for the cameras. See Create Configuration profiles for your devices.
• A suitable Device group. See Create Device groups.

Task — Add network-discovered Alta cameras

1. From the toolbar, open > Devices.
2. Hover over Devices and select Cameras.
3. Click Add cameras.
4. Choose Network discovery.
   
5. From the list of discovered cameras, select the camera to add.
   1. Use Search to find a specific camera.
   2. Use Advanced search to filter the list.
6. Click Next.
7. Confirm the detected camera and Cloud Connector details.
8. Click Next.
9. Enter a Name for the camera.
10. Select the required Device group for the camera.
11. From Configuration, select the required Configuration profile.
12. Click Next.
13. If required, the Devices without credentials dialog is displayed. Either specify the credentials to use, or allow Alta Video to create new credentials.
    1. New credentials are unique and can be viewed by selecting the camera and selecting Settings > Edit settings > Connection > View credentials.
14. Choose Done.
