Add third-party cameras using network discovery

You can add third-party cameras to your Alta Video deployment using network discovery.
Prerequisites
You must connect third-party cameras to an Alta Cloud Connector. Physically install the cameras and connect them to a network visible from the Alta Cloud Connector. For more information, see Claim your Alta Cloud Connector.
Additional considerations:
- Camera names to identify the devices within your deployment.
Configuration profiles for the cameras. See Create Configuration profiles for your devices.- A suitable
Device group . See Create Device groups.
Task — Add network-discovered third-party cameras
- Choose
Open a tool > Devices . - Click
Add devices . - Choose
Network discovery . - From the list of discovered cameras, select the camera to add.
- Use
Search to find a specific camera. - Use
Advanced Search options to filter the list.
- Use
- Click
Next . - Confirm the detected camera and Cloud Connector details.
- Click
Next . - Enter a
NAME for the camera. - Select the required
DEVICE GROUP for the camera. - From
CONFIGURATION , select the requiredConfiguration profile . - Click
Next . - If required, enter a
PORT . - Select the camera
TYPE .- Choose
Automatic to have Alta Video check for the correct protocol for the camera.

- Choose how the camera feed is encrypted.
- Select your preferred
MEDIA CONFIG .- It is recommended to use the default
Ava Aware configuration. Only use theCamera default if the camera does not support automatic configuration by Alta Video, or when you use Alta Video alongside another video management system already connected to the camera.

- Click
Next . - Specify the credentials used to connect to the camera.
- Click
Done .
