Delete camera recordings, saved clips, and backups

You can delete some or all of the recordings stored on a camera or backed up to the cloud.

Before you start

To delete camera recordings, you must have a user role with the device permissions Add/Edit devices and Delete devices:

• Go to Users > > Roles > Device permissions > ALTA VIDEO & PROTECT
• If required, add the Devices tool.
• Select Add/Edit devices and Delete devices.
• See Create and edit Roles.

Delete device recordings

1. From the toolbar, open > Devices.
2. Hover over Devices and select Cameras.
3. Select the required camera.
4. From the sidepanel, click Edit settings.
5. Select Maintenance.
6. Click Delete recordings.
7. For a multi-source camera, choose the required source.
   
8. Choose the Type of recordings to delete:
   1. Local recordings: Interesting and uninteresting video stored on the device. See Create Configuration profiles for your devices.
   2. Local recordings and saved clips: Interesting and uninteresting video stored on the device and any bookmarked recordings or external links. See Saved clips tool.
   3. All and cloud backups: Any video stored on the device and any recordings backed up to the cloud. See Create Configuration profiles for your devices.
9. From Delete recordings, choose the timeframe:
   1. All stored: Delete all recordings of the selected type.
   2. Older than (days): Only delete recordings of the selected type that are older than the number of days selected.
10. Click Delete.
