Edit speaker settings

Edit the settings for speakers connected to Alta Video.

Task — Edit camera-connected speaker settings

  1. Choose Tools Open a tool > Devices Devices.
  2. Open the Speakers tab.
  3. Select the speaker to edit.
  4. Click edit button Edit.
  5. If required, change the speaker name.
  6. As required, set the speaker status to Active or Inactive.
  7. To associate cameras covering areas close to the speaker, select them from the Associated cameras field. Associated cameras include audio announcement controls in the Video view tool.
  8. If supported, adjust the speaker volume as required.
  9. To test the speaker, click Play sound.
  10. To change the speaker connection credentials, click Connect with different credentials.
  11. To remove the speaker from Alta Video, click Delete speaker from camera.
  12. Click Done.

Task — Edit IP speaker settings

  1. Choose Tools Open a tool > Devices Devices.
  2. Open the Speakers tab.
  3. Select the speaker to edit.
  4. Click edit button Edit.
  5. If required, change the speaker name, status, device group, labels, and encryption.
  6. To associate cameras covering areas close to the speaker, select them from the Associated cameras field. Associated cameras include audio announcement controls in the Video view tool.
  7. If supported, adjust the speaker volume as required.
  8. To test the speaker, click Play sound.
  9. To change the speaker connection credentials, click Connect with different credentials.
  10. To remove the speaker from Alta Video, click Delete speaker.

  11. Click Close.

Task — Edit multiple speaker settings

You can bulk edit the settings for a mix of camera-connected and IP speakers.

  1. Choose Tools Open a tool > Devices Devices.
  2. Open the Speakers tab.
  3. Select the speakers to edit.
  4. Click edit button Edit.
  5. As required, set the speakers to Active or Inactive.
  6. If supported, adjust the speaker volumes as required.
  7. For any selected IP speakers:
    1. Add or remove any required labels.
    2. If required, change the device group or connection credentials.
    3. To delete all the selected IP speakers, click Delete speakers.
  8. Click Done.
