Add speakers for audio announcements

For ONVIF-compliant cameras with speakers (or that can connect speakers) or for compatible Axis and ONVIF IP speakers, you can add the speaker to Alta Video from the
Adding an existing camera as a speaker or a free-standing IP speaker does not require additional licensing. However, each device still requires a license regardless of whether you use the video.
Task — Add a camera-connected speaker
To add an Axis or ONVIF-compliant camera with speakers to Alta Video, connect it to an Avigilon Alta Cloud Connector.
You should update the firmware on your device before adding it to Alta Video.
- Choose
Open a tool > Devices . - Select the
Speakers tab. - Click and select
Discover camera speakers . - From the required site, select the speaker.
- Choose
Next . - Read the notice about testing the speakers and choose
OK . - If required, change the
SPEAKER NAME . By default, the speaker name matches the camera name. - To associate cameras covering areas close to the speaker, select them from the
ASSOCIATED CAMERAS field. Associated cameras include audio announcement controls in the Video view tool. - To play a test sound, click .
- Choose
Add .
Task — Add an IP speaker
To add an IP speaker to Alta Video, connect it to an Avigilon Alta Cloud Connector.
- Choose
Open a tool > Devices . - Select the
Speakers tab. - Click and select
Add IP speakers . - Enter the speaker IP address and name.
- Select the relevant Cloud Connector.
- Choose a device group and add any required labels.
- To associate cameras covering areas close to the speaker, select them from the
ASSOCIATED CAMERAS field. Associated cameras include audio announcement controls in the Video view tool. - Choose
Next . - Enter the port address and select the type of speaker and required encryption.
- Choose
Next . - Add or select the connection credentials for the speaker.
- Click
Add .
