Manage credentials

Last modified: Tuesday January 17, 2023.

When Alta Video connects and communicates with your cameras, it needs to know the user name and password for each device.

Manage the credentials that Alta Video uses to communicate with your cameras.

For Avigilon Ava cloud-native cameras, Alta Video automatically generates rotating credentials that are changed hourly.

For Avigilon Ava cameras connected to an Alta Cloud Connector, you can choose to use automatically generated credentials, or you can define the credentials yourself.
For more information, see: Configure credential options for your Ava cameras

Prerequisites

Make sure you have access to the user names and passwords for all cameras to be connected to Alta Video.
