PTZ idle timeout

You can configure a pan-tilt-zoom camera (PTZ) to return to a preset position after it receives no movement instructions from a user or alarm within a set timeframe.

Before you start

Set a default preset position for the camera to return to. See Default and preset PTZ camera positions.

Task — Set an idle timeout

  1. From the toolbar, open new tool button > video view button Video view.
  2. Open a saved view containing a PTZ camera or drag a PTZ camera to a view pane.
  3. Hover over the pane and click video view presets button Presets and tours and select Idle period.
  4. Select the required idle period.
