Add Protect user credentials in Alta Access

Last modified: Wednesday March 11, 2026.

You can create credentials in Alta Access to authenticate users operating an Arming Station Pro.

User credentials can be authenticated by PIN or high and low Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) cards. For more details, see the Arming Station Pro datasheet.

Check your deployment is unified

To use Alta Access user credentials, your Alta Video deployment must be unified with your Alta Access integration.

Click app switcher button in the toolbar. If you see Video, Access, and Protect, your deployment is unified.

If your deployment is not unified, speak to your Avigilon Alta Partner or Sales representative for more information.

Alternatively, you can set a zone PIN that can be given to any user. See Zone PINs.

Add user credentials

  1. Click app switcher button in the web app toolbar and select Access.
  2. Open the Users tool.
  3. To add a new user, click Add devices button.
  4. To edit a user, click Edit user button.
  5. Add or edit user information as required.
  6. For each user that needs to arm or disarm a zone using an Arming Station Pro, click Credentials.
    1. Choose PIN or Card: Openpath/MIFARE (CSN) - Fast. Other options are not yet supported.
  7. Credentials automatically synchronize to Alta Protect.
  8. After synchronization, you can also manage users in the Protect or Alta Video Users tool. See Manage Protect users.
