Alta Protect monitoring service

Last modified: Wednesday June 11, 2025.

Avigilon Alta offers a remote monitoring service you can add to your Alta Protect deployment.

  • Operators in certified centers monitor your security system and review triggered alarms.
  • If operatives determine an alarm is valid, they request a police dispatch to the alarm site.

Alta Protect and Alta Protect monitoring service are separately licensed products. Alta Protect monitoring service is unavailable in some regions. Speak to your Avigilon Alta Partner or Sales representative for more information.

Platform-integrated remote monitoring

The Alta Protect monitoring service provides the following features and benefits:

  • Simplified setup: Choosing the Alta Protect monitoring service simplifies the setup process for partners, and helps avoid issues with integrating a third-party monitoring service.
  • Integrated 24/7 monitoring: The service provides access to 24/7 remote monitoring by operators located in certified centers.
  • Effective video verification of alarms: Trained operators assess video from alarms to determine if there is a threat. This significantly reduces false alarms and unnecessary security dispatches.
    • The average response time for verification is approximately 40 seconds.
    • Note, sensor-only alarms with verification enabled, but without associated camera footage, automatically trigger a dispatch request. See Sensors.
  • Structured and escalated support: The Alta Protect monitoring service includes support through the same channels as Alta Video. While partners handle initial troubleshooting and setup adjustments, issues can be formally escalated to Alta Video Support.
  • Included usage allowance: The base license includes a verification allowance per site per month. Licenses are available for various durations and can be expanded to allow more verification events. For more information, see Alta Protect monitoring service licensing.

The partner as the alarm company

When using the Alta Protect monitoring service, the partner is considered the alarm company responsible for deployment, installation, obtaining local permits, and complying with local certification standards.
