Monitor false alarms

AI-powered video analytics can incorrectly identify something as a person or movement, triggering an alarm.

  • If you use a third-party verification service, they should flag the alarm as false and ignore it.
  • However, you should investigate repeated false alarms and make any necessary adjustments.
  • Check that the zone has sufficient camera coverage.
  • Check camera fields of view for reflective surfaces, fluctuating light levels, and movement in off-site areas. Add privacy masks and alter camera angles as necessary. See Camera setup.
  • Consider adjusting the detections that each trigger responds to. Exclude stationary objects can reduce false alarms by ignoring stationary objects that look like valid detections but do not move, for example, a hanging coat might be detected as a person. See Add triggers to a zone.
