Analytics search settings

To view and change system settings, you must have the correct permissions. See Alta Video Deployment settings.

Alta Video can use face recognition and person attribute recognition to search for specific people or people with specific attributes, such as gender or clothing. For more information, see Alta Video Face search and Search by appearance.

The use of these features requires Alta Video to store biometric data. To comply with regional privacy and data protection laws, you have to specifically enable face and person attribute analytics for sites that are located in regions that allow the use of such analytics. Configure the use of person attributes and face recognition

  1. Open the System System tool.
  2. From Deployment, select Settings.
  3. Select General.
  4. Under ANALYTICS, click Custom custom analytics settings.
  5. Choose the video analytics to use for each site:
    1. NONE — Detect any person regardless of their attributes. No biometric data storage.
    2. PERSON — Detect people using attributes. Stores person attribute biometric data such as age, gender, clothing, and accessories.
    3. PERSON & FACE — Detect people using attributes and facial recognition. Store facial and person attribute biometric data.
  6. Click Done.
