Add an Avigilon Alta Horn Speaker to Alta Protect

You can add an Avigilon Alta Horn Speaker to Alta Protect using its QR code or Alta Key.

Before you start

• Note any cameras located close to the speaker. Associate nearby cameras to play audio and initiate talk-down from the Video view tool. See Make audio announcements.
• If required, create a new device group. See Create Device groups.
• Create any additional labels. See Labels for sites, groups, and devices.
• To add a speaker using a QR code, you need a webcam connected to your computer. Alternatively, you can add the camera by entering its Alta Key.
• The QR code on the device might become inaccessible after installation. Either take a photo of the QR code, note down the Alta Key or serial number, or use the QR code or Alta Key on the device packaging label.

Add a Horn Speaker by QR code or Alta Key

1. Connect the speaker in accordance to its installation instructions.
   1. Note: The QR code on the device might become inaccessible after installation. Either take a photo of the QR code, note down the Alta Key or serial number, or use the QR code or Alta Key on the device packaging label.
2. From the toolbar, open > Devices.
3. Hover over Devices and select Speakers.
4. Click and select Scan QR code.
   
5. Scan the QR code for the speaker.
   1. If you do not have a webcam connected to the computer used to access your Alta apps, you can enter the device's Alta Key.
   2. To add multiple devices, scan the QR code or enter the Alta Key of each device.
6. Click Add.
7. Enter a Name for the device.
8. If required, change the device group.
9. Select any required Labels.
   1. To create a new label, open the dropdown and select + Create a new label.
   2. A blue outline and tick indicates a label inherited from the site.
10. To associate cameras located near the speaker, select them from Associated cameras. Associated cameras include audio announcement controls in the Video view tool.
11. Choose Add.
