Make audio announcements from Video view

When suitable cameras with inbuilt or connected speakers are added to your Alta Video deployment, you can make audio announcements from Video view.

Prerequisites

  • Cameras with inbuilt or connected speakers must have the speaker added using the Devices tool, and it be set to Active before audio announcements can be made.

  • The speaker or associated cameras must be added to the relevant Video view.
  • The system upon which you are viewing Alta Video must have a working microphone enabled.

Task — Make announcements from the speaker

  1. Choose Tools Tools > Video view Video view.
  2. Select the speaker from which to make the announcement.
  3. Click and hold the Microphone button Push-to-talk (PTT) button and speak into the microphone connected to your viewing station. If you do not see the center of showing green in response to your voice levels, check that the microphone is correctly connected to your viewing station.
  4. When you have finished speaking, release the PTT button.

Task — Make announcements from an associated camera

  1. Select the associated camera from which to make the announcement.
  2. Click the Audio announcements icon Audio announcements icon to display the push-to-talk icon.
  3. Click and hold the Microphone button Push-to-talk (PTT) button and speak into the microphone connected to your viewing station.

    If you do not see the Microphone volume icon showing green in response to your voice levels, check that the microphone is correctly connected to your viewing station.

  4. When you have finished speaking, release the PTT button.
