Alta Protect tools

When you log in to the Alta Protect web app, the Dashboard opens.

The tools and features available in your dashboard are defined by the permissions set for your user role. For more information, see Create and edit Roles.

Open the Dashboard

Click the Alta Video or partner logo in the tool bar to open the Dashboard.

Tool bar

You can switch between open tools by clicking on their icons in the tool bar.

  • Click open new tool button to open the tool list. The tools you can access are determined by your user role permissions.
  • Hover over an open tool icon to see additional tabs for that tool.
  • To close a tool, hover over the icon and click close open tool button

Tool icons

Click on a tool icon to open the relevant tool. The tools you can see and access are determined by your user role permissions.

zone tool button Zones

Define protected areas by assigning cameras, access points, and sensors to monitor your sites' spaces and entry points. See Configure Protect zones.

Users tool Users

Add and remove users, edit user settings, and manage roles and permissions by user groups. See Manage Protect users.

clips tool button Clips

View and manage bookmarked video and external links created from alarms. See Save and share alarm video.

devices tool button Devices

Add, remove, configure, and manage cameras, speakers, arming stations, and other devices. See Add devices to Alta Protect.

alarms tool button Alarms

View and manage zone alarms. See Respond to alarms.

system tool button System

Manage global deployment settings. See System tool.
