Arming Station Pro setup guide

This guide shows you the key steps to set up your Arming Station Pro. Installers and partners should refer to the relevant topics and customize this process to fulfill the specific requirements of each installation.

Before you start

  • Add at least one camera to your deployment.
  • Add a user with a phone number to act as an emergency contact.
    • app switcher button > Video > Users > select user > Edit user > ADDITIONAL INFORMATION > Phone.
  • Prepare a Power over Ethernet (PoE) connection with internet connectivity.

Installation and connection

Consult the mounting guide provided with the unit. For connectivity requirements, see the datasheet.

Add the device to Protect

  1. Go to the Alta Protect web app app switcher button > Protect
  2. From the toolbar, open new tool button > devices tool button Devices.
  3. Hover over devices button Devices and select Cameras.
  4. Click Add devices button Add cameras.
  5. If you have a webcam connected to your computer, select Scan QR code. Scan the code on the unit and click Add.
  6. Alternatively, choose Enter Alta Key and enter the device Alta Key, including hyphens.
  7. Enter or change any details as required.
  8. Click Done and check the device is connected to Alta Protect.
  9. If required:
    1. Change the built-in camera settings. See Change camera settings in Alta Video.
    2. Change the audio options so the device complies with your local privacy regulations. See Audio options in Alta Video.

Configure an alarm zone

  1. In Protect, open the zone tool button Zones tool and click Add devices button.
  2. Enter the zone details.
  3. Add an emergency contact.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In TRIGGERS, select at least one camera.
  6. Click within ARM & DISARM.
  7. Enable With devices and select the required arming station. You can associate an Arming Station Pro with up to four zones.
  8. If required, set a Zone PIN:
    1. Set a 4–16 digit PIN.
      1. Anybody can enter the PIN into an arming station associated with this zone to arm or disarm it.

    2. You can set the authentication method in your deployment settings.
      1. Choose between user credentials and zone PINs. See Zone authentication method.
  9. In ALARM ACTIONS, configure your required notifications and actions for each alarm state.

Optional: Add Alta Access user credentials

If you have a unified deployment, you can create credentials in Alta Access to authenticate users in an Arming Station Pro.

  1. Go to the Alta Access web app.
    1. app switcher button > Access
  2. Open the Users tool.
  3. Add Add devices button or edit Edit user button users as required:
    1. For each user that can arm or disarm the zone using the Arming Station Pro, click Credentials.
    2. Choose PIN or Card: Openpath/MIFARE (CSN) - Fast. The other options are not supported yet.
  4. Provide PINs and cards to your users as required.

System use

  1. Touch your access card below the screen or enter your PIN and press intrusion pro keypad enter button.
  2. To arm the zone, press intrusion pro keypad shield button followed by intrusion pro keypad enter button.
  3. To disarm the zone, press intrusion pro keypad disarm button.
  4. In Protect, review alarm notification icon alarm notifications from the menu bar and the Alarms tool.
