Release notes: Alta Video 2.4.2 beta

Each Alta Video user can now configure their preferred default Video view. Once set, this view is displayed each time that User logs into Alta Video and opens Video view.

In the Counts, Search and Rules tools, the Area of interest settings now allows you to define non-rectangular areas.

You can now configure multiple Alta Cloud Connectors in each server group. This, for example, allows you to configure multiple appliances for a large site, enabling all cameras on site to connect to a single server group.

Decide if your Users can access your Alta Video deployment using the vcloud Gateway and from the local network, can only access Alta Video from your local network, and create Users that can only access the video streams using RTSP clients.

An issue where the anomaly detector could repeatedly trigger has been resolved.

An issue where, when applying a privacy mask to the view of a Avigilon Ava cameras device, the Avigilon Ava cameras did not take into account the rotation of the camera has been resolved.

An issue in clustered setups where, if you editted any device settings from an Alta Cloud Connector other than the one to which the device was connected, you could not immediately see the changes has been resolved.

An issue in clustered Alta Cloud Connector installations, where you could not export video from a camera connected to a node other than the one you were logged into has been resolved.

Issue: Users with Devices | View device information and Rules | Add/Edit rules permissions cannot see the device list.

Workaround: Adding the Counts | Add/Edit areas permission enables the device list to be viewed.

Issue: When Users with the Operator Role use the Alta Video mobile apps (both Android and iOS), they do not receive notifications when rules trigger.

Workaround: Create a global role that includes the Servers | Add/Edit servers permission for users of the Mobile Apps.

Issue: When first viewing the Alta Video user interface in Chrome versions 84 or 85, some of the icons might not load correctly. This issue has been filed against the Chrome browser.

Workaround: Refresh the browser tab to display the icons correctly.

Issue: The date picker tool sometimes does not retain the selected dates you choose.

Workaround: After selecting your chosen dates, re-open the data picker tool to your selected dates persist.

Issue: To send an email with a password reset link, you must either have Remote Access enabled, or have correctly configured the External URL.

Issue: When requesting an RTSP stream, any camera view rotation that has been configured in Alta Video is ignored, and the stream uses the rotation settings from the camera.
