Cloud Connector and Server Group Status Messages
Last modified: Thursday October 08, 2026.
Alta Video monitoring provides real-time health and status visibility across individual Cloud Connectors and entire server groups. When automatic health checks detect hardware faults, connectivity drops, or configuration issues, the system displays specific banner messages to alert users. Understanding these alerts helps you quickly identify when a Cloud Connector enters a Degraded or Unhealthy state so you can troubleshoot the issue and restore normal operations.
Disk status
Disk error messages alert you to critical storage hardware faults on your Cloud connectors, such as when a disk is missing, disabled, full, or requires initialization. Track some of these storage alerts by configuring System rules to track System issues. If a disk needs to be replaced, collect information about your deployment, including your deployment URL and the information about the Cloud Connector with the failed disk and contact support (avigilon.com/support) to start the disk drive Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process. See Replace failed Cloud Connector disk drives for more information.
| Severity | Message | More information |
| Error | {count} disk missing | One or more physical hard drives have been removed, disconnected, or have failed completely. Check physical drive bays to ensure drives are seated properly. Replace any failed drives. |
| Error | All disks are disabled | The storage subsystem has been halted. Check the storage configuration or inspect hardware. |
| Error | Disk error | The system's health monitor detected read/write errors, latency, or faults on a drive. Check hardware, back up critical data, and prepare to replace the failing drive. |
| Warning | Disk is full | The specified storage partitions have reached 100% capacity. Adjust video retention policies, free up space, or add supplementary storage. |
| Info | Disk requires initialization | A new, unformatted, or corrupted drive has been detected and needs to be formatted. |
| Info | Disk is disabled | The drive is offline. Re-enable the drive or investigate the hardware for faults. |
Replication status
Replication banner messages indicate the synchronization status between the master Cloud Connector of your server group and the Avigilon Alta cloud. While these alerts can highlight network faults, replication inactivity is often expected behavior during routine system operations, such as when a Cloud Connector is downloading an upgrade file. If the alert persists for an extended period outside of an upgrade window, ensure your master Cloud Connector maintains a stable internet connection to the cloud platform.
| Severity | Message | More information |
| Error | Unknown replication error | Synchronization with the cloud failed. Check system logs for details, verify internet connectivity to the cloud, or contact Support. |
| Warning | Replication not active due to a disconnected server | A server in the replication group has lost network connectivity or powered off. Verify power and network connections to the disconnected server. |
Server state messages
Server state problems indicate overarching issues with your Cloud Connector setup, network connectivity, firmware updates, or device capacity limits. Depending on the severity of the problem, these alerts indicate that the platform state of your Cloud Connector may have shifted to a Degraded or Unhealthy status. To monitor your appliance stability, you can configure System rules to track some System issues and send notifications when they alerts occur.
| Severity | Message | More information |
| Error | Upgrade failed | The update process was interrupted or encountered a fatal error. Contact support if the appliance remains stuck. |
| Error | Network interface error | A physical or configuration issue with a network port (e.g., unplugged cable, IP conflict), or the health monitor has flagged dropping packets, interface flapping, or connectivity loss. Verify physical cable connections, switch port status, local IP configuration, and review network logs. |
| Error | Setup not completed | The initial configuration for the Cloud Connector has not been finished. |
| Error | Cloud Connector disconnected: {name} | The Cloud Connector lost communication with cloud services. Verify the internet connection and ensure outbound firewall ports are open. |
| Error | GPU not detected | The internal GPU used for video analytics has failed or is no longer communicating. Reboot the server. If the error persists, hardware repair or replacement may be required. Contact support. |
| Warning | Upgrading | The server is currently applying an update. No action needed; wait for the process to finish. |
| Warning | Network interface priority not configured | Multiple network interfaces are active, but routing priority (metrics) isn't defined. Configure network interface metrics in the network settings to establish a primary route. |
| Warning | Too many devices for minimal retention period | The volume of recording devices exceeds the storage capacity required to meet your configured minimum retention rules. Add more storage capacity, or adjust your configuration profiles. |
| Info | Device limit reached | The Cloud Connector has reached its maximum supported camera/device count. |
| Info | Device limit nearing capacity, impacting data retention. | The high number of devices is causing video retention to drop below desired levels. Add more storage, lower video quality settings, or distribute cameras to another server. |
